Ilkley & District
Council for Voluntary Service

and Good Neighbours

ICVS: Introduction

The Ilkley & District Council for Voluntary Service (ICVS) provides support for local voluntary organisations and charities. We also provide support and advice to members of the public on a range of local services.

We administer a number of local community projects including Good Neighbours, the over 90's party, Grass Roots (which provides gardening and DIY support), Christmas parcels and Good Companions.

Ilkley Community Transport is now a separate charity but continues to be administered from the ICVS office. Enquiries or bookings for minibus hire or car lifts can be made through the ICVS office.

ICVS covers the area of Ilkley, Addingham, Burley in Wharfedale and Menston.
For people living outside our area our Links page has a list of other local and national CVS groups.

Alternatively contact the office and we will do our best to put you in touch with an appropriate organisation.

Services available to members of the public

Members of the public can make enquiries at the office about a wide range of local schemes such as services for older and disabled people.

In addition, we provide information and signposting on a wide range of voluntary and statutory organisations providing services in our area. All enquiries are followed up and if we cannot provide the information you are looking for we will endeavour to put you in contact with someone who can.

Many local projects are dependent on the support of volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved with ICVS or other voluntary schemes we can put you in touch with local organisations. Alternatively, you can make an appointment for an informal interview to help place you through our Volunteer Point Scheme.
