Good Companions Befriending Scheme

Good Companions Befriending Scheme has received grants from Garfield Weston Foundation, the Older People's Health in Mind Programme, and the Sir George Martin Trust.

‘This is fantastic news, we will be able to continue not just supporting our current clients but offering support to others requiring a friendly face to pop into their home for an hour or so’ explains Joanna, the Befriending Scheme co-ordinator.

The Good Companions scheme aims to enhance the quality of life of individual older people by offering a trusting friendship, which may reduce isolation, increase confidence, encourage involvement in their local community and to participate in new activities.
